Adult Volunteers can be involved in Scouting in various ways.

Helpers and Leaders are volunteers and come to the association from diverse backgrounds and education and take on various roles within scouting such as Leaders, Committee members, and Adult helpers.

All leaders receive training that is standardised across Australia and delivered by qualified trainers. Scouts Australia is a Registered Training Organisation, so the training provides both VET and scout leadership qualifications.

Leaders receive a Certificate III in Business, a Certificate of Leadership and a Certificate III in Leadership

  • On completion of Basic training.
  • With a current First Aid certificate

All new leaders will attend a common core basic leadership course followed by section-specific training.

Most leaders take from 6 to 8 months to complete basic training.

Committee roles are usually filled by parents and help with the running of the group.  They assist by providing and maintaining the group assets such as halls and equipment.
