Scout Guide RegattaThe next Regatta will be held at Snug in the long weekend in March, 2011 For Scouts • The Regatta is about taking part, having fun, socialising and making new friends. • You get the chance to try lots of different water and beach activities. You don’t have to win or be really good at anything. You choose which events you want to enter. • After all the fun at the beach, evening activities include films and a disco. • You don’t have to cook your own food - there is central catering. • You get a souvenir pennant and great memories. Information for Leaders • Get your youth members who have been to Regatta to enthuse your younger Scouts. (Remember that participants need to be at least 10 years old). • If you would like to discuss any aspect of the Regatta, email Rod Viney or Lyn Muir -

- or ring 6229 4700. • You don’t need to bring boats or have expertise in water activities, but, if you have access to suitable craft, then go for it! Many events are shore based and you can share equipment with other troops. Scouts can ‘have-a-go’ at patrol boat rowing, kayaking or sailing in Pacer dinghies – the Regatta makes craft available and provides experienced help. For Parents • Parents have a great time at the Regatta. You can participate in Leader/Parent events if you wish, and the Regatta relies on you to help with the running of events. • A good option is to camp with your troop and be part of the Regatta catering.
